Andy Hine Medical Fund

On September 6, 2015 my stepfather Andy Hine was in a tragic diving accident while visiting with family for Labor Day Weekend. He has fractured his C4, C5 and C6 vertebrae, which has impacted his neurological capabilities. He underwent a 3 hour surgery to remove the broken vertebrae and replace it with bone and metal plates. He is currently breathing on his own but with the help of a ventilator, in the hopes that his breathing will become stronger so he can eventually breathe on his own. He lost most movement and feeling below the chest area down to his legs. He has slight movement and sensation in his arms which we are greatly thankful for. He is currently in the Surgical ICU at Bay State Medical Center, until he is well enough to attend rehab and physical therapy. We are still awaiting the verdict on whether or not he will have the ability to walk or what damages are permanent, but, as a family we are very hopeful and are praying for the best. Andy is a very active person and a very talented Carpenter and this accident has been a very tragic event in his life and our family’s, and as anyone knows medical bills can be a tremendous burden on one’s family. Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated and will help tremendously. Thank you for your time reading our story, and we will be updating regularly with Andy’s progress.
