Visyon offers support to children/young people struggling with their mental health & emotional wellbeing across Cheshire East & Staffordshire Moorlands.
Visyon was formed in 1994 so is celebrating 25 years this year. The issues that drove the founders to create Visyon still exist today; bullying, self harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, a lack of services in the area, a lack of places to go to discuss these challenges. But also add to this new developments such as cyber bullying, social media pressures, exam stress, and age old issues such as abuse, physical health conditions, school pressures, peer relationships, traumatic experiences - I could go on!
Visyon provides a safe place to explore these concerns & to access help. Visyon provides one to one counselling, therapeutic group work, peer support groups, Parent Empower Hours, prevention and early intervention programmes with schools and the wider community, and produces a range of focused resources to help children/young people understand their own condition and establish strategies for self management. The number of children/young people Visyon supports is just the tip of the local iceberg. Finding innovative ways to support more children/young people quicker & in different ways requires funding. So we are walking 25k for 25 years that Visyon has been helping children/young people and their families in the region.
