Heartshore Horses In Crisis

Dear friends,
Heartshore is an Equine Therapy Centre based in the Cotswolds. 22 horses currently live at Heartshore and we work with autistic children and their families, people in crisis and people who want to learn about natural or relational horsemanship. I am a member of the International Federation of Equine Applied Learning which is a modality that enables deep, personal development in the company of horses. We also take horses into prisons with a charity called Key4Life, which works with young offenders, both inside the prisons, and rehabilitating the boys when they are released.
Heartshore also works on a shamanic level with an organisation called Soul Systems UK, and over the past 12 months we have been developing Horse Dancing as an art form, providing opportunity for people to experience themselves in a very different way in relationship with the horses, dance and music.
Currently Heartshore is in crisis. Due to the prevailing financial situation in the caring services, we lost one of our biggest paying customers, Ruskin Mill College who we had been working with for some 15 years. This has meant that Heartshore is under threat of closure.
We need help with funding for an interim period whilst we find new homes for a lot of the horses. Also offers of homes or sponsorship for some of the horses until we are out of this intense period of transition.
It is my dear hope, as holder of the space at Heartshore, that we can somehow maintain the core and spirit of the work that goes on there, until it achieves its new form, whatever that may be.
