Saving Maddie's Home

Maddie and her mom, Pat, moved to the Minneapolis area in 2002 due to Maddie’s Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). MLD is a progressive blood disease with no cure. When Maddie had to undergo two bone marrow transplants to slow the progression, along with daily home nurse care, meds and Doctor’s fees that were not covered by primary and secondary insurance, the remaining was placed on Maddie’s mom to cover. The money owed is an assessed parental fee from the State of Minnesota. That variance over the past 5 years has totaled over $41,000 dollars. Maddie’s mom works full time to take care of her daughter and has been attempting to pay this debt off. Now the state has garnished her already stretched paycheck by $800/month. The state has also putting a lien on the one place that is safe for both of them, their home. Please see the video on Maddie's Song and then give.
