Dear Friends and Family,
This upcoming September I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend YWAM (Youth with a mission) in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
YWAM was founded by a man named Loren Cunningham in 1960 and has been mobilizing young people to spread the love of God to almost every country of the world ever since. YWAM's mission statement is to know God and make him known.
Ever since I had an amazing conversation with one of my best friends about his time visiting Kona, I have not been able to stop thinking about attending YWAM. God has laid it heavy on my heart to pursue a DTS (Discipleship Training School) at the YWAM Kona campus. After a lot of thought and prayer with my family and friends I finally felt called to apply, and In February I received my official acceptance letter into The University of The Nations. On September 29th I will be attending the Fire and Fragrance DTS in Kona, Hawaii. This particular DTS has a focus on deepening and intensifying my relationship with Jesus and using that intimate relationship to bring others to know Christ. The DTS is split into two different sections, the first section being called the lecture phase which is made up of several intensive training classes about the Bible and evangelism and deepening my relationship with Jesus Christ. The second part of this DTS is called the outreach phase which consist of taking everything I will learn from the lecture phase and applying it on a missions trip. Just to name a few places I may be able to attend are Thailand, Nepal, India, and Cambodia. The primary focus of the DTS is to build up young leaders who are on fire for Jesus and the Gospel.
I would like to offer you the opportunity to partner up with me and take this Journey on head first. I definitely would not be here today if it weren’t for all my friends and family always praying for me and guiding me every step of the way. I know this 6+ month journey will be extremely tough both mentally, emotionally, and physically, so I would greatly appreciate it if I could be in every ones prayers so that God shows me what I need to see and guides my heart in the right direction so that I can do His will to the best of my ability.
However, nothing is ever free and I will also need financial support along the way. This particular DTS will cost $10,000 and that money goes toward both the lecture phase and the outreach phase. In addition I will also be talking to local ministries and churches for support. With some help I will also be selling baked goods and T-shirts to help finance my trip. Also, a friend of mine that is also going and I will be talking to several churches about a night of worship where donations will be accepted too. No amount is ever too small and every amount is greatly appreciated. I have complete faith and trust that God will provide and use every penny towards the furthering of His kingdom.
I am extremely excited about this opportunity and where God is taking me in life and I cannot wait to share each and every story with yall.
