Tash's Medical Fund

My name is Chris. I work in retail for a nice company. I however do not earn that much and require some help. About 8 years ago my partner (Natasha) lost her right kidney to an infection of Staphylococcus aureus which also damaged her remaining kidney.  She was taken into hospital not in a good way as she was in and out of consciousness and if I can recall they performed an emergency nephrectomy less than 24 hours later. It was slightly before this that the doctors did not hold out much hope for Tash's survival. About a week later in ICU Tash opened her eyes and started the long road back. Having only one kidney and it being severly compromised meant that her bones have started to degrade. I should also mention that before the infection she had perfectly healthy kidneys and drank around 2 litres of water or more per day. She also has Type 1 diabetes.  A couple of years later (I think as I'm not good with remembering dates or timelines) she had a bad hypoglycaemic episode and even when her blood sugars had been raised to around 7 she was not becoming her normal self. So they decided to sedate her. A couple of days later she was brought out of sedation and she came back to her normal self. It was whilst in hospital that her neck of femur was broken. They operated a little while later and placed a dynamic hip screw in to fix it. It took quite a while for the fracture to heal and while healing she fractured her femur just past the dynamic hip screw. She was operated on again where the surgeons placed a longer dynamic hip screw in her leg. This also broke and they decided to do a hip replacement on Tash. They also put in a long plate which went down to her knee from her thigh along with a bone graft. Unfortunately this plate has also spontaneously snapped and Tash has for the past year been crutching around in a great deal of pain with a broken leg and which the doctors don't know what to do with. They have said that her best option is for an amputation. She could get a heavier plate put in however the chance of her bone healing is slim to none.
I know I have left out a lot of details and I apologize for that. Tash has about 10 clinics that she visits. She gets a wheelchair taxi to drive her to them but the cost of taking the taxi to her appointments adds up. I pick her up when I can.
Where we live (we are renting) is behind and above a shop. The bedroom and bathroom are above the shop. The lounge room, kitchen and laundry are behind the shop. We both like it here as it's central to my work, her doctors and the hospitals where she goes to for her appointments. However due to the more than likely amputation we will need to find somewhere else to live. This is where I am asking for help please. I don't earn that much and half goes straight to rent. Then there are things like car bills and others which pretty much eats everything up. We need to find a place that can be made to be wheelchair friendly that is ideally near to both hospitals. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you kindly.
