Our unique high school called Escuela Popular Instituto Campesino de Cesar Chavez (EPIC de Cesar Chave) needs your help to continue providing opportunities for those who need it most. We serve rural farmworkers, African-Americans, and other disadvantaged populations with no other educational opportunities available to them in rural communities.
Escuela Popular Instituto Campesino de Cesar Chavez High School (EPIC de Cesar Chavez) is a charter high school for students over 18. These are adult students who are seeking a chance to earn their high school diploma. They were unable to get their high school diploma prior to this due to issues with work, family, or other adverse conditions. EPIC helps adults join the workforce with a diploma that opens doors through flexible schedules that can integrate school including work experience through FIELD’s local conservation corps.
Today EPIC has enrolled over 400 students, but we lack supplemental funding to keep our doors open and continue changing lives. Please help us continue the FIELD legacy founded by Cesar Chavez in 1978 by donating, and help us continue with our mission of “promoting economic and social prosperity for Latinos and other low-wage, low-skilled individuals and their families to help them realize their inherent worth and strengthen their communities.”
Please view our website at www.farmworkerinstitute.org. You will see we are in the rural towns where no other schools operate. EPIC charges no tuition or fees. Our leadership includes Cesar Chavez’s youngest son and daughter. We are nonprofit with very low overhead costs. We have no paid fundraising staff and few full time managers. We try to spend all of our resources in our classrooms and learning centers.
Your contribution will directly support solving the educational deficiencies and will allow us to continue. Thank you for your assistance!
