I never met Rick. Circumstance has kept me away from St. John's since my chance online meeting with Luka several years ago, but I got a sense of him anyway. Enough to be gutted when I got word and worried. I knew things had been hard these past few years and I knew what that meant.

Expenses for Rick's memorial have been covered, but there are a lot of long, lean days and weeks to come and that's without factoring in the pandemic and what it may do. There's a lot we can't do to help, but there are two things we can. Pass this particular hat around and, yes, donate to it.

Short of GoFundMe's fees, all proceeds go directly to Luka and the kids. I'm just here to be the annoying one, bugging you for money.

But in all seriousness, thank you for anything you can do. We all feel small right now, but from small things can come miracles.
