Jeff & Angie Snyder's life after death of Xander

Donation protected

Dear family and friends,

Jeff and Angie Snyder gave birth to their beautiful baby boy Xander Jason on May 13th, 2020, at 4:36a.m. Jeff and Angie had to say their final goodbye at 6:12a.m., as baby Xander went to be with God.

Jeff and Angie were over the moon to find out that they were pregnant after months of trying. Everything with the pregnancy was going great until, at 20 weeks, they found out Xander had severely clubbed feet, a small chest cavity, a small aorta (the main artery of the heart), and probable skeletal dysplasia. Despite these diagnoses, hopes were still high for baby Xander. Due to the complexity of the pregnancy, Angie had to have numerous costly tests, ultrasounds, and echocardiograms to monitor baby Xander’s progress. At 35 weeks, after consultation with numerous doctors, Duke neonatologists broke the heart breaking news that there was no medical interventions that could save Xander. The doctors advised palliative, or comfort care for Xander’s birth, and to love him until the end. Jeff and Angie had to make the painful decision to put their baby boy on palliative care. Once Xander was born he was put on comfort measures and lived for 96 minutes. During these 96 minutes, he opened his eyes and saw his loving mommy & daddy holding him and tightly wrapped his hand around his daddy’s pinky. Until his last breath, he only felt the unconditional love from his parents.

We want to support Jeff and Angie through this time. Your donations will help provide them the support they need to find answers, process, grieve and heal from this insurmountable loss. Unfortunately, once Xander passed, their insurance no longer covered their hospital expenses, which only adds to the turmoil given the fact that they don’t have the means to cover these expenses. They have roughly $50,000 in medical bills. Your donations will give them the time and financial assistance that they need to get through this heartbreaking loss. Thank you for any amount of donation, God Bless.
