Please help support the Montgomery Hills Street Fest on Saturday, October 1st, from 3-7 pm. All funds collected will be spent to cover the MH Street Fest expenses, including tables, tents, chairs, porta-potty, and the sound system rental.
The MH Street Fest has two goals:
- Connect residents with local businesses, restaurants, community organizations, and neighborhood services
- Show our local elected officials and candidates that they need to fully fund the planned improvements to Georgia Ave and start construction without delay
Georgia Ave between Forest Glen and 16th Street is dangerous, unpleasant, and bleak. For 40+ years, officials have proposed improvements to make Georgia Ave safer for pedestrians and bikers and function better for our local businesses. We are slowly making progress.
Design and engineering are nearing completion. Senator Van Hollen was instrumental in securing a $1m earmark of federal funds. However, the project is still NOT funded for construction.
The Fest is a chance to meet up with friends, eat great food, hear local musicians, play fun games with the kids, and meet our elected officials and candidates to tell them why Georgia Ave should be funded.
We appreciate the generous donations from the following individuals and organizations that donated funds outside of the GoFundMe:
FinMarc Management Inc.
Compass Real Estate
Don and Tina Slater
Many thanks to the local neighborhood associations that donated funding for the Fest:
North Woodside CA
McKenny Hills-Carrol Knolls CA
Forest Estates Civic Association
The Fest would not be possible without our sponsors and generous donors!
