200 Miles for Lymphoma and Macmillan
Donation protected
On the 25th March of this year I was diagnosed with Advanced Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. I was thrown in to a world of chaos, not knowing what it meant for myself and for my future. Luckily, thanks to years of research and fundraising, my form of cancer is one of the most treatable. My mid way PET scan showed complete metabolic response, and I am now on my way to completing 6 cycles (12 infusions) of ABVD chemotherapy to get rid of it once and for all. All being well, my final infusion should be 4th October. Lymphoma action and Macmillan were both there for me, offering advice and guidance and support at a time when, I, along with my family and friends, needed it the most. Therefore, during the months of August and September (September being blood cancer awareness month) I am walking 200 miles to raise money and awareness. I walked 100 miles in May 2023 for Cancer Research, and I want to give something back again. Walking has been a godsend to me throughout my treatment, it has helped keep my mind healthy, which is just as important as physical health. It will be a physical challenge, as I will still be going through active treatment. I am determined to hit my target and use it as a countdown to my final treatment, as well as raising awareness of Lymphoma, and giving back to Macmillan and Lymphoma Action.
