english version below... 2.50$ un baobab. english version: The beginning of the story is simple: my children are going back to Bobo-Dioulasso this summer with an intern in environment and agriculture. They are going to plant trees there. We then decided to ask our relatives in Bobo to start growing fruit trees so that it is ready to be planted when they arrive. The goal being to make known the magic of the culture and to support families to face the current economic crisis of Burkina, we offered between 1 and 2 $ per tree which will be ready for planting in July. The word spreads. People decided to participate. Then Alberic, a Burkinab ecologist, contacted us so that we could help him with his project: he plants trees in schoolyards to provide shade for students and that they learn at the same time how to gros trees. They are the ones who have to water and care for their trees. So we have a load of volunteers who have started growing fruit trees for us. We have a partner who has several greenery courses in the area around Bobo, and students ready to plant with us. What started as a small personal project has taken on enormous proportions and everyone wants to participate. We therefore ask for small contributions to pay the inhabitants of Bobo who will cultivate the trees as well as for the students who will plant them. This money will be used to pay for water, land and effort for the former, and to help with the school fees of the latter. With 1 dollar, 1 mango tree will be bought and planted. $ 1.50 for cashew, flamboyant, shea and others. $ 2 pays an avocado tree. $ 2.50 a baobab.
