Breeze’s Fiji 2020 with Help International

Hi my name is Breeze and in the summer of 2020 I am going to Fiji with Help International! The program is awesome because it supports the people that they work with, but doesn’t create a dependency on Help. That means when the volunteers leave the people are not anxiously waiting for the return of Help! I love this aspect of the humanitarian project because it shows that Help is not interested in a ‘white savior’ complex and is there to help give just a little push. The volunteers return to help fix the programs they put in place to make them better, so that’s what I’ll be doing this summer! There are 4 main areas that we work in: Health, Education, Infrastructure development, and business/entrepreneurship. I am so excited to help out and can’t wait!!!
