eRide Community Legal Expenses
I am Jean Jose Garcia Molina, I started riding an electric unicycle over 4 years ago on my commute.
It was so much fun that short after, I started organising group rides on weekends.
Those group rides have become a large community since.
All kinds of electric mobility users (eScooters, eSkateboards, eUnicycles, eBikes, OneWheels and others).
Now there is announcement channels, group chats, and other social media chann. The most important, members supporting each other when someone needs help.
Since eRiders started getting stopped by Garda this year, the group became political. eRides were being seized (125€ tow truck fees) and riders called to court.
09/12/2019 Court Case:
An eUnicycle rider got a 100€ fine.
An eScooter rider got a 300€ fine and 5 points on his driving license.

The eScooter rider is planning to appeal.
The funds raised with this GoFundMe campaign will result in another chance to get a better sentence. Not only for himself, but as a precedent for future cases. Some other cases are already scheduled.
The funds raised with this GoFundMe campaign will cover these costs, in this order of priority:
- Legal council on if the appeal is a good idea.
- Defense/Legal Representation.
- Fines community members had to pay.
- Other legal costs incurred by the eRide Community / Members.
If we reach over 5000 EUR, tow truck fees paid by community members may also be covered by this campaign. (Receipts/Proof needed).
eScoot Repair Centre is offering free eScooter repairs for people who contribute to this campaign.
We hope the legal situation will change soon to allow the use of eRides (or Powered Personal Transporters, PPTs).
