Costa Rica Sea Turtle Conservation Trip
I have always wanted to leave the country. Traveling and exploring are two of my favorite things. I chose Costa Rica not only because of its natural beauty, but also to practice my Spanish. I am a 5th year spanish student and have always been of the opinion that to really learn a language you must go out and experience it first hand in the world. Real world practice will really give me a leg up as I continue my language studies, and this trip will also look exceptional on a college application.
The other aspect of this program that interests me is the wildlife conservation. I have a passion for animals and to be able to research them on this level with others who feel the same as I do would be incredible. The focus is mainly around studying and protecting both leatherback and giant green sea turtles by traveling to nesting locations on the coastline. I will be working night and day to patrol beaches for nesting females, build egg hatcheries, clean beaches etc. It is truly a once in a lifetime experience!
The money donated here is for the tuition of the program I will be traveling with this Summer.
Thank you so much!
