Vehicle Fund For Disabled Veteran Gerald Baldwin

Donation protected

On Wednesday November 6th, 2019 deputies were dispatched to an elderly man walking on the highway. The caller thought the elderly man might have been a missing person. When deputies arrived and located the man, they were quickly able to determine that he wasn't a missing person. Instead, he was a disabled veteran with 22 years of service in the United States Army. He was attempting to walk to a VA doctor's appointment in Huntsville AL over 100 miles away. The man informed deputies that if he didn't make the appointment, he would lose his VA benefits. Deputies were then able to coordinate with the Walker, Cullman, Morgan, and Madison County Sheriff's Offices to get the man to his appointment on time. The next day those same Sheriff's Offices did it all again but in reverse to get the man back home. I am attempting to raise money for Gerald Baldwin who is that disabled veteran. I was one of the deputies that help get him to his appointment and then back home. He informed me that he had a vehicle. He said that it was broken down and was not very reliable. I'm hoping that generous and kind folks like yourselves will help me raise the money to provide a reliable mode of transportation for Mr. Baldwin so that he never has to walk to VA Doctor's appointment again.
