Struggling

My  husband Stephen  was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Due to his illness can no longer work. We have asked help from the State they told us to sign up for disability we been waiting seven months told us that everything would be retroactive for those seven months. Which turns out to be a lie !!! They said were not eligible for retroactive. So they given us $500 a week to live on we’re behind on our mortgage we have six months to catch up . Plus we have been paying bills with our credit card  .Also they were helping us out with food stamps but they took those to said we make too much money. I work with children with disabilities which pays for our insurance which is $500 a month. But we make too much money according to them . My husband Has been working for 40 years paying into the system and we can’t get any help .We are going to lose at home!!!  Thank you for reading. Any help would be appreciated
