Ms. Wheelchair New Mexico 2019!

My name is Irene Delgado and I am from Santa Fe, New Mexico. On March 30, 2019 I had the honor of being crowned Ms. Wheelchair New Mexico 2019 at Santa Fe Kia through the Ms. Wheelchair America, Inc. organization. The program’s mission is to provide an opportunity of achievement for women who happen to be wheelchair users to successfully educate and advocate for the more than 60 million Americans living with disabilities. My platform is, “Every Disability Creates New Abilities.” I plan to emphasize the idea that every person has their own unique story that others can relate to and learn from. I believe it is a privilege to use my voice and share my story to impact others. During my reign, I will serve as a spokeswoman throughout New Mexico to discuss awareness, acceptance and understanding of those with disabilities. This coming July 2019 I will be going to Nationals in Little Rock Arkansas. I will need a $2,000 entry fee. the entry fee will cover one hotel room for me and my companion to share, we will be checking in on Monday July 1st 2019 and departing Sunday morning July 7th 2019. The entry fee will cover most of my meals during the week of Nationals for myself as well as 1 companion and it will cover one t-shirt for myself and for my companion as well. I will be participating in three judging sessions these consist of two individual interview sessions with the panel of judges and the platform speech. In addition the top five finalists name during Saturday's cutting ceremony will participate in an on-stage judging session where they will be asked to answer to questions in front of the audience.
