REBUILDING VERN'S

My wife(the elusive Vern) and I opened Vern's Kitchen and Pub in mid summer 2012. It was a long time dream of ours. We leased an old deli in the up and coming area of Red Hook Brooklyn, New York and converted it into a beautiful Restaurant and Pub.

Some of you folks may have been here for a meal or a pint, most of you probably not as the restaurant had only been open for a short time before the super storm hit, and devastated not only the restaurant, but most of Red Hook as well.

Five feet of water filled the restaurant, floating all the equipment, the fridges, POS system, stove, grills, tables and chairs and after breaking the glass doors, sent them smashing on the ground once it receded.  We desperately need your help in rebuilding.  We need to replace all electrical outlets and boxes, equipment, inventory and flooring. Insurance denied our claim, and we are not eligible for any disaster loans because we simply weren't open long enough

We love this community. Although we haven't been here that long, we are committed to building and re-building it. With your help all is possible.
