School Supplies for Victims of Hurricane Sandy

This is a recent message from my friend Geralyn, a teacher in Long Island whose school was severly damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

"I went to my school relocation site yesterday and at least was able to see some of the other teachers. We all basically listened to each others stories and cried on each others shoulders. Most staff members live in Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, the Rockaways and Breezy Point...all areas that got hit very hard. Most lost homes and cars and all possessions. Our school is in bad shape and could take months to fix. We are supposed to have kids coming to the relocated school. We will have no classrooms or supplies for these kids. The principal is not even sure what the plan is because nothing like this has ever happened before in NYC. We don't even know where our kids are because they may have evacuated and with the horrible condition Far Rockaway is still in who knows if they'll ever come back. I left feeling drained but then started to feel a little hope that maybe I would get to see some of my kids tomorrow...even if it's just one of them."

I would like to collect money to send to her so she can buy school supplies for the kids. If all donations could be received by Friday so she can get what she needs this weekend that would be greatly appreciated.
