HMS Bounty Relief

On Monday morning, October 29th The crew of the HMS Bounty suffered the greatest tragedy in her long and storied career.
In the worst of conditions the sixteen members of her crew abandoned ship into the seas off the coast of North Carolina. Fourteen crew were rescued six hours later by the coast guard. Unfortunately two did not make it to the liferafts. One was found hours later but beyond aid. The coast guard searched for the final member of the crew for five days but to no avail and suspended the search early Friday morning.
Melissa and myself are former crew members, we served on board earlier this year but were not aboard when these devastating events came to pass.
Melissa Norris worked along side the crew of the Bounty all season and became close friends with each and every member of the crew.
I myself (Grant Bredeson) Worked and lived aboard the ship for three years before taking my leave in late April to pursue other sailing opportunities.
This has thrown all of our lives into the deepest turmoil. Our friends have lost everything they own and the place that they called home, and two of our closest friends are now gone forever.
Desperate for some way to help we started a donations fund through paypal and now have found this site as an additional means to collect the funds which will help our friends and the families of those who lost their lives to start putting their lives back together.
All donated funds will go directly to the 2012 crew of the HMS Bounty who were involved in this incident as well as to the families of the crew who paid the ultimate price.
