19,000 Feet for Disabilities: Join the Mitzvah Cause
Tax deductible
Hi! I am collecting donations as part of my mitzvah project with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center and asking for your support. A mitzvah project is a community service project that is designed to promote social responsbility, compassion, and engagement particularly for Bar and Bat Mitzvah students.
I chose to work with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center for my mitzvah project because I love their mission to support people with disabilities be able to engage in outdoor activities. As part of this project, I completed a ski-a-thon on March 20th where I skied as much vertical as I could in a day (while also hiking to the peak of Breckenridge above the Imperial Lift). I completed 19,000 vertical in one day! I am asking for donations per thousand vertical feet or a flat donation--either way is great! The money that I raise goes directly to the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to expand the potential of people with disabilities and special needs through meaningful, educational, and inspiring outdoor experiences.
BOEC offers custom-designed, high-quality outdoor recreational opportunities led by well-trained staff and supported by over 300 volunteers. I had the opportunity to volunteer ski this winter with kids through the program. The kids had different disabilities including autism, cleft palate, Down's syndrome, and seizure disorder. It was inspiring to be part of their experience to overcome obstacles, enjoy the outdoors, and grow from the experience. I want to support others to have these experiences too.
