100 mile cycle ride for Alex
A group of Alex's friends and myself are doing a 100-mile cycle ride for my brother-in-law Alex.
Alex Wood, a
remarkable, now 34-yr-old son, brother, husband and father-of-four, with a passion for all things surf.
Following a tragic head injury on 4 October 2011, sustained during rugby training, Alex was hospitalised and suffered a massive brain bleed.
Two life-saving brain operations were a success, but ten weeks in a coma caused enormous heartache and concern for family and
friends.
This fundraising event is to raise awareness of brain injury and money for his rehabilitation needs. Thank you.
======= UPDATE =======
Eight months in the Oxford Centre for Enablement saw progress in his physical abilities and speech, but PCT funding ran out and he has been in a nursing home since October 2012. Since being there he has regressed. Money raised currently funds crucial speech therapy.
Many thanks for the recent donations. Your continued support is so very much appreciated and all monies go directly to Alex's rehabilitation fund.
You can follow Alex's progress at makingwavesforalex.co.uk and on the Making Waves for Alex Facebook page.
