14 De La Rosa first opened its doors as a neighbourhood cafe-style bar at the end of 2018. As a family-run trade, we focused on the things that mattered most to us: community, quality and service. What started as a business has evolved to be so much more than that. We have become a second home to many of our regulars and are proud of our evolution into an advocate for the community that surrounds us and an avid supporter of local products and suppliers.
On Saturday 14th March 2020, following the worldwide pandemic of the COVID-19 outbreak, we had to temporarily close our doors and join the countless businesses across Spain facing an uncertain future.
We spent this first week finding a solution to make sure our extraordinary staff would not have to be dismissed permanently. They have been at the heart of 14 De La Rosa and we refused to think of re-opening without them. They will be cared for and will be there to greet you when our doors reopen.
Many suppliers have been incredible and postponed any payments due in order to give us time to get back on our feet.
However, we need to address fixed payments: rent, loans, utility bills. And this is where we ask for your help. We would need to raise enough funds to cover these basic costs that will need to be paid regardless of whether we are open or not. And these are the ones that will hurt and could have difficult consequences at a time when no income is coming in.
We don’t want this to be goodbye. We will work hard and fight to get through this, but your help could make all the difference. So here is our solution: vouchers to be used at a later date. Valid for a whole year, whatever the day.
