Sam Blanco III for WJUSD Trustee

Hello friends and family. As many of you may know, I'm running for the Woodland Joint Unified School District (WJUSD) Board of Trustees! If elected, I'd like to:

"¢ Increase Parental Involvement
"¢ Encourage new revenue ideas
"¢ Promote a higher education culture for our students
"¢ Make School Safety a priority

Let me tell you a little about me and why I'm running for the WJUSD Board of Trustees. I'm the first in my family to obtain a college degree, receiving my B.A. in Economics from U.C. Davis and M.A. in Educational Administration from C.S.U. Sacramento.  I've worked at U.C. Davis for the past 20 years, currently as the Director of Educational Talent Search.

I've been active in the Woodland community, having served four years on the Willow Spring School Site Council and as PTA President; on the Gibson School Site Council for two years; and three years on the WJUSD Budget Advisory Council. My extensive work and economic experience, and my familiarity with the WJUSD, has given me an appropriate perspective to help the district achieve its mission.

I have an investment not only with my daughters currently attending Gibson Elementary and Douglass Middle schools, but with all children attending WJUSD schools as well. I'm confident that I can help us invest in our children's future as a member of the WJUSD Board of Trustees.

Running for the WJUSD Board of Trustees is not a one-man show. I've been fortunate to have the support of my wife and family and friends. But I also need fiscal support. That's why I created this Web site. It's always been hard for me to ask for help, especially fiscal support. But I have a strong passion for working for the youth in my community so I am asking for your donation.

Your contributions, no matter how big or small, will go towards the purchase of yard signs, buttons, post cards, postage, pencils, fliers, pamphlets and other materials to help support my campaign.
