100,000 Miles for the Homeless

Richard has struggled with homelessness a few times in his life. He was doing well up until March 2020 when he became homeless again for the first time in 9 years. During those 9 years he never forgot the struggles of being homeless and did what he could to help the homeless in his community with food and money when possible.
In March not long after he became homeless, he also lost his job due to COVID19 shutting everything down. Richard has never been afraid of hard work, so he pressed on offering to do odd jobs and collecting cans to recycle for money. However, with COVID19 not many people are looking to hire strangers for fear of getting COVID19.
Being homeless is hard enough during normal times but COVID19 has made it even harder. Trying to get help when so many people are in need and most government offices are closed like everything else.
Richard has decided he would like to use his struggle to bring awareness to the growing population of homeless in the US through a 100,000-mile walk around America.
The funds raised will be used to:
1) Help Richard bring awareness to the growing homeless population in the US
2) Start a non-profit that will be used to create housing, provide support, and meet the basic needs of the homeless. (Showers, food, hygiene products, etc.)
Richard has asked me to help manage this fundraiser and get the non-profit started.
The walk will start on August 25, 2020 going from Key West to Jacksonville FL
Updates of the route and progress will be provided as determined.
