Stichting One Hope Malawi zet zich in voor herbebossing in Malawi. Ons doel in 2024:
- 1000 nieuwe bomen planten op vijf verschillende scholen in Phulanya;
- Bewustwording creëren en kennis delen over het belang en het verzorgen van bomen onder de scholieren.

Ons doel is om het streefbedrag in februari op te halen, zodat alle bomen in het eerste kwartaal van 2024 geplant kunnen worden.
Achtergrondinformatie:
Ontbossing is een enorm probleem in Malawi. Het is één van de oorzaken van klimaatverandering en verdient hoge prioriteit. In 2021 zijn wij gestart met het project herbebossing in Phulanya. Dit vanwege het hoge niveau van ontbossing en de hoge blootstelling aan overstromingen tijdens het regenseizoen in dit gebied.
Sindsdien hebben we 6000 bomen geplant in en rondom Phulanya en zetten we ons in voor het verzorgen en beschermen van deze bomen. Een belangrijk aandachtsgebied hierbij is het vergroten van de kennis en bewustwording onder de lokale bevolking over het belang en de verzorging van bomen.

Background information:
Deforestation is a huge problem in Malawi. It is one of the causes of climate change and deserves high priority. In 2021 we started our reforestation project in Phulanya. This is due to the high level of deforestation and high exposure to flooding during the rainy season in this area.
Since then, we have planted 6,000 trees in and around Phulanya and are committed to caring for and protecting these trees. An important area of focus is increasing knowledge and awareness among the local population about the importance and care of trees.
