101.66 continuous miles on foot for mental health

We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. According to Mind "Mental health problems affect around one in four people in any given year. They range from common problems, such as depression and anxiety, to rarer problems such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder."

As some of you may already know, on occasion throughout my life I have been that one in four and experienced depression and anxiety, varying from mild form to more severe at times.

Physical exercise is good for mental wellbeing, running has helped me deal with my challenges, so I could not think of better way to celebrate turning 50 than to raise money for a valuable service than to run/walk 100 miles in one continuous effort on Saturday 13th April. This challenge will probably be the biggest test of my mind and body to date,

During my own mental ill health I have have been fortunate to have had support from my GP, friends and family to help me through difficult times. Some people need valuable support from services such as Mind in Furness who offer great support to many.
