Evander's Big Litter Pick

My school is running a 'grow a pound' project, to help raise money to buy equipment and resources for our classes. This year, rather than just trying to raise as much money as possible I want to do something that makes a difference for my community and neighbours as well.
One of my projects in year 5 was to find out about plastic pollution. I found out that there is a huge amount of plastic in our rivers and seas and if we all tried harder to reduce, reuse and recycle our rubbish we could make a big difference. I see litter on the street every day when I walk to school and lots of this will end up in local rivers, canals and eventually in the sea.
To help raise awareness in my community and to help clean up my streets I am going to do a litter pick every day for one week. I hope that this will encourage my friends and neighbours to pick up litter as well and help to protect our environment.
After my litter pick week I will update this page with how many bin bags I filled. If you would like to support me and help raise some money for my school please sponsor me!
