The Escarpment Project
The Escarpment Project Annual Clean-up is the largest volunteer environmental clean up in Hamilton, Southern Ontario, and one of the largest of its kind in Canada. As The Escarpment Project grows more funds are needed to maintain its safety and success. There are many costs associated with putting on an event of this magnitude. Funds being raised thru this GoFundMe page will be used for; health and safety personel and equipment, insurance, clean up supplies, tools and promotion of this event to ensure our natural areas stay as prestine as possible. 
During each Escarpment Project clean-up people of all ages gather at various locations along the Niagara escarpment to revitalize the forest and help return it to its natural splendour by removing litter & debris that has been dumped and left there, in some cases for years and even decades.
This year is our 5th anniversary. On Sunday, April 24, 2016 starting at 11:00 am almost 1000 volunteers will converge at the following locations, from Dundas thru Hamilton to Grimsby to clean up our escarpment;
40 Mile Creek - Grimsby
Albion Falls - Hamilton
Billy Green Falls - Hamilton
Bruce Trail - Dundas
Chedoke Falls, Stairs & Radial Trail - Hamilton
Devil’s Punchbowl - Stoney Creek
Felkers Falls - Hamilton
Kenilworth Stairs & Rail Trail - Hamilton
Wentworth Stairs & Side Trails - Hamilton
To celebrate 5 years of cleaning up the escarpment we would like to thank our volunteers with a BBQ/festival after the clean ups have finished. We will all be gathering at the Punchbowl Market for some great food, music and a community celebration.
During the last clean-up (Sunday April 26, 2015) over 600 volunteers helped remove approximately 800 bags of litter plus furniture, car parts, bikes, shopping carts, computers, TVs and more. What people find most surprising is how fun and rewarding it is to help out the environment in this way.
