On Saturday, October 13, 2018. The family of Erik Smart suffered two tragic losses in an unfortunate fishing incident. Erik and his youngest son Derrick were over taken by waves and currents, in an attempt to save his son the family lost 
them both. Erik's legacy will be continued through the memories of his family, friends, and his remaining four children (Dreshawn, Deandre, Kamauri, and Kayden Smart). A gofund me account has been setup and all proceeds will benefit his children.
