I am proud to announce that I was elected to be an Alternate Delegate in the Arizona Delegation to represent Senator Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Convention July 25th-28th, 2016! While I am very excited to represent my fellow constituents and Bernie supporters at the DNC, the travel costs are quite exorbitant. But this is not just about Bernie. It is about a grass roots movement; a political revolution we must keep alive! And contributing to this fund is one small way YOU can help!

I met Bernie in California while volunteering for the campaign before the June 7th primary.
"Thank you for giving millions of people the courage to stand up for what they believe in and for giving them a reason to hope again." That's what I wish I had said to U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders but instead he shocked me and spoke first.
Bernie Sanders: (Pointing at the three Bernie buttons on my shirt): “Thank you so much for your support and everything that you do.”
Me: (shocked) “No, thank YOU Bernie!”
I didn't get to tell him what I had been thinking of saying all week but the experience was unforgettable and I am so glad to have met this genuine man, who is talking about bringing people together instead of dividing us, while addressing the real issues facing our great nation. ----- End story
Why Bernie Sanders?
Bernie is the only candidate who believes that a public education and healthcare are not privileges but rights that all citizens should have. He is the only candidate addressing the major problems this nation faces. He is the only candidate to address a corrupt campaign finance system that we have currently in place, which allows special interests and corporations the right to buy elections. He is the only candidate who is standing up for the everyday American and addressing the increasing levels of income and wealth inequality in the richest country on Earth. This man has shown extraordinary judgment and foresight during his political career. He is a once in a lifetime candidate who never sold out or became beholden to wealthy campaign contributors when he has had many opportunities to do so. 7 out of 10 Americans believe this economy is rigged in favor of those on top and this system has been put in place by those who donate vast amounts of money to politicians for power and influence.
Why Eric Cardenas?
I am a recent graduate from the University of Arizona and I will be attending Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law this upcoming fall. Before Bernie, I felt the way millions of Americans feel in this country, disenfranchised. I had no hope in those running the government, did not believe they had the interest of the average American at heart, and felt as though my vote meant nothing. Simply put, I was not going to vote in this election because I no longer felt like choosing between the lesser of two evils and I saw virtually no difference between establishment Democrats/Republicans.
Then Bernie came along and gave me as well as millions of others a reason to hope again. Bernie has always said, it not about Bernie Sanders and has repeatedly mentioned that no 1 president or 1 person can do it alone. Real change happens when millions of people stand up, fight back, and become involved in the political process. The first step in getting involved is by getting millions of Bernie Sanders supporters to Philadelphia at the end of July to send a message that is loud and clear to the political establishment. What Bernie has started is not over, it is just getting started, and it is truly a movement, it is a revolution.
Proof of this, is my support for Bernie as a volunteer in Arizona while juggling a busy schedule as a senior in college, applying to law schools, and serving as president of my business fraternity. After I graduated, I went to California for the 2 weeks before the primary to help out the campaign in whatever way I can. I have spent dozens of hours knocking on doors, making phone calls, and doing what I can to spread Bernie's message.
