E-Squared, Inc., formerly known as All the Above, Inc. (Ata), is a nonprofit organization that I founded in response to Louisville's growing employment skills gap between its young people and the workforce. The mission is to equip and empower at-risk youth with the skills and training needed to succeed in the workforce. Partnering with community professionals and other organizations, my organization will address the growing skills gap by equipping youth, ages 16-24, with a specific set of soft skills, and then empowering them through a hands-on experience that will exercise and strengthen these skills in each youth; preparing them for success in the workforce.
Growing up an at-risk youth myself in the city Pontiac, just outside of Detroit, MI, and having worked with and around at-risk youth for 13+ years, I can attest that the disconnect, lack of discipline, and lack of skills amongst this population of young people is not always self-inflicted; as the stereotypes would like us to believe. But for the majority, uncontrolled family circumstances, toxic environments and role models, and poverty all play a significant role in their position as an at-risk youth; limiting their chances of successfully transitioning into adults. Knowing this, it is now my goal, along with your help, to pass on the tools needed to help beat the odds and help increase their chances at success.
I am raising funds that will help me to carry out this mission. Funds that will allow me to secure my own physical location for a whole year ($9,000), purchase new computers, equipment, furniture, and other supplies ($8500), and cover the costs of First Aid & CPR training and certification ($6,000) for each youth that comes through the program, and a website ($1,500). On a much bigger scale, your donations will not only help change the lives of these young people but will also help secure the future workforce.
My nonprofit is a certfied 501(c)(3) charitable organization, therefore ANY and EVERY donation is needed, will help make an impact, and is tax deductible. I thank you in advance for your contribution and support to this cause that I am so passionate about!
