help for veterans

I am trying to raise money to help out our local veteran's in and around the city of Calgary who are struggling to get by and just need some support. I have teamed up with the veterans association veteran's food bank as well and I am currently doing a food bank drive as well.  the veteran's association with the help of local veteran's has recently opened a food bank for veterans. the food bank is great for veterans because it's giving them their own voice. it will also be offering items like wheel chairs and crutches. but the veteran's association also wants to offer more then just that, it wants to offer veteran's counseling if they need it, A.A meetings for those who feel they can not go to meetings in thier community. it wants to offer programs in which veterans can get out into communities and not feel so alone.... but all this takes money and support. these veteran's are also saying how nice it would be get gift cards in thier food hampers to help them get fresh produce, gas for their vehicles or other items they need but did not receive. you may say that they have help from the government and other places but sadly that is not true. our government has been taking from our veterans and service members, they have not held to thier promise to help and give them the money they need just to get by day to day... 
 I'm asking that you simply help support the men and women who gave and continue to give us our freedom and so much more, who never thought twice about leaving behind their lives, thier families to protect ours. I'm asking you help make it so some of them stay warm this winter. please help support this cause for those who gave so much more than we could ever give in return.
