My fellow Hackettstonians the end of an era is upon us. After 50 years Enzo’s of Hackettstown is closing its doors today due to non lease renewal. As you know Enzo’s is the last store standing in the little mall there & towns go through changes and the familiar & comforting must give way to new beginnings. This has obviously devastated the owner. He has run this restaurant since he was 13 with an extraordinary work ethic eventually owning it himself working 60-80 hours a week or more. After decades the doors will close. It’s difficult unfamiliar territory for him.
Many of you went to school with him, many of us call him friend. Heck many of us voted his Pizzeria NJ best this past year. Well your friend could really use your support now.
As many of you can attest to Leo Rando has been an unfailing friend & business owner. He has given away pizza, donated to community events and has given all kinds of food away, he has catered weddings, funerals, birthday parties, graduations, he has lent a helping hand to almost anyone who came in looking for comfort or in needed of help and I mean any help, with child support, those who have battled drug addiction, gone through divorce etc. He has personally delivered food to sick customers who would only eat Enzo’s food during their cancer fight, he had a standing date every year with Miss Ann, a 93 year old customer who Leo invited for a free meal every year on her birthday until she passed this year at 103. He has stayed open during storms when no other business was open to feed the nurses & doctors at the hospital, road crews, firemen taking care of us here in town. There are countless other stories i'm sure each of you have, for many of you Enzo’s was the first place you worked, or the extra part time income you needed for the family.
Well now Leo needs our support. he would never ask for our it he is a proud man and he will probably get very upset with me for creating this go fund me page but this sudden closing of his store has left him & his employees with no income the weight of the world on his shoulders and I know he needs our community to rally around him.
My fellow Hackettstonians, I am asking for your generosity and love to please lift him in prayer and send him well wishes and donate if you can $1,$2,$5 or whatever you can afford, lets show him the love and support he could really use at this time from all of us.
My heart breaks for him & Its time for us as a community to give back to him.
