For more than one year, English Club Mereni is a beautiful place for everyone who wants to learn english and have fun. From october 2014, we are organising many different activities (at least) once a week and never stop fighting for a better world. Fighting through education.
Hovewer, the condition is so that we are often constrained to buy different stuff for our activities from our personal money and bring food and other stuff from home. Also, we need more resources to organise better our activities. These are the reasons why we need your support.
- To be more specific, what is the project about?
We are four people from a small moldavian village (click here to find out more about Moldova) who wants to improve the education in their only village's high school, this being the reason why we started this project. We are Razvan, Radu, Valmir and Sandra and we belive that we can build a better world educating children with such values as peace, tolerance, diversity and sustainable development: these are the main topics of our meetings and the aims of the project.
Currently, we have a classroom which serve as the venue for most of our activities. The problem is the room is quite poorly (in that it doesn't have many "decor elements", it's not "colorful" or even cozy, as the furniture is a bit old).
- How will we "invest" your support?
From first part of the money we have a plan to buy a projector, a notebook and two small speakers so we can organise movie screenings and just for any common activity. This is an important component because we know movies have a big impact on people and it is an interactive way of education.
The second part of the money will be invested in furniture. We want to buy comfortable chairs and some bean bags.
The third part of the money will be invested in english books, so we can provide a wide range of resources that students can use for their personal development and for improving their english reading skills. This includes both fiction and non-fiction books.
The rest of the money we will invest in daily needs: office supplies, food and small gifts for our participants. Because they are special for us.
