Young people are equipped with a unique combination of passion and curiosity, both of which are traits that are important if we want to protect our planet. We strongly believe that, with a little guidance and support, the young people of today are capable of becoming the leaders of tomorrow. However, no student should be prevented from growing and developing themselves because they can't afford the same opportunities as their peers.
Your donation will be put towards the execution of Greening Forward's Empowered Young Environmentalists Summit (EYES) in New York City this March. Hosted in collaboration with the NYC Department of Education, EYES provides young people with specific tools for them to grow as leaders and help solve a variety of environmental problems, and gives them hands-on experience working with the solutions to those problems. The summit features two influential youth speakers, group discussions focusing on pressing environmental problems, and workshops designed to teach specific skills needed for creating change. It also includes free breakfast and lunch for attendees.
We need financial support to enable our team to attend and host the summit, provide engaging, high-quality programs to a diverse group of young people, and offer everything at a very low cost ($5 regular admission, or free for low-income students), as we believe no student's economic situation should exclude them from opportunities to learn and grow as an individual. Your donation will go directly towards paying for the programming and associated costs of EYES, allowing us to continue offering it affordably.
But do you know what is even better than just affordable? Free. If we reach our goal of $3000, you will enable us to offer the conference for free to all students.
With all of our team being full-time students, we rely heavily on the generosity of people like you who want young people to be able to take a more active role in society's challenges. Your support allows us to ensure all students, regardless of their background, have a path through which they can pursue their passions for change and have a helping hand along the way. Thank you!
