Emily's Medical Mission Trip

I have had a lot of wonderful experiences in nursing school over the past three years. There are no words to describe the gratification that I have felt when helping others in their time of need. As I think about completing my final year at UMaine, I have decided to go on a medical mission trip, which has been a dream of mine for quite some time. This would be an amazing learning experience, with an opportunity to make a difference and pay it forward. International Volunteer HQ is one of the world's best volunteer abroad programs. For this specific mission, I will be traveling as a volunteer to Costa Rica for two weeks to provide medical care to local citizens. In order for the mission to be possible, I will need to raise money needed for travel, meals, and housing. IVHQ will provide me with housing and meals for a fee of $925. In addition, airfare to and from Costa Rica will be approximately $500. This opportunity has fallen into my lap with very short notice. The money for this mission is due on May 3rd.
