Help Fund Grassroots Aid Projects
Donation protected
Even now, the vast majority of effective relief work in Greece is still being provided not by the governments or the big NGOs, but by small organizations, local initiatives, and independent volunteers, made possible by donations from all over the world and the great spirit of the people on the ground.
I am continuing to work in Greece as part of this network, in Idomeni and in the official camp of Nea Kavala, and 100% of money received via this direct aid page will be used specifically for:
- buying basic supplies for those in need: mainly food and clothes
- buying material for creative and educational activities for children
Donating via pages like these is a great way to make a difference, and is far more direct than donations to big charities and NGO’s, and every pound donated will make a difference.
You can follow updates about the situation in Greece, projects I am involved in, and how your donations are being used at :
https://www.facebook.com/storiesfromtheborders/
or, for those not on Facebook:
https://storiesfromtheborders.wordpress.com/
and more specifically a community centre project in Nea Kavala which I am involved with at :
https://www.facebook.com/WeAreHereCentre
You can add your voice to this grassroots movement by continuing to share this page and updates from the other pages with friends and family in order to raise awareness and funds.

P.S Please also consider helping me to help!
Like so many of the others here, I am a self-funded volunteer and help with covering my basic costs will allow me to stay here doing this work for longer. Again, every little helps - I am good at being resourceful and I can make 10 euros go a long way in the supermarket! If you are interested in helping sponsor my time out here, please just get in touch by follow the link to the facebook page and send me a message :)
