Nursing Internship In Ghana
Donation protected
I am currently a rising senior nursing student at Duquesne University (Pittsburgh, PA).
On June 10, I will be heading to Ghana, West Africa to participate in a nursing & public health internship. I will be interning for 6 weeks through the program Projects Abroad. While nursing internships are typically paid, this program is not paid, and is actually very expensive (Approx. $7,000). Any contributions to help me offset some of the costs I will incur would be so greatly appreciated.
I will be providing care in a variety of settings: hospitals, orphanages, schools, churches, villages, and community centers. I will be staying with a host family in order to experience the living conditions and local culture of the Ghanaians.
My ultimate career goal is to work as a Registered Nurse in an international organization, such as Medicins San Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). Although I have been on two mission trips to Haiti, this will be my first international trip performing work related to nursing and healthcare. This opportunity will be a huge first step in working towards achieving my career goal.
Costs for Ghana Internship:
- Airfare
- Program fees (including site placement, food & accommodation, and health insurance)
- Pre-trip expenses (travel visa, mosquito net, antimalarial medication, and various vaccines).
- Additional expenses will include daily public transportation fees from home-stay to hospital/ site placement.
[Approx. $7,000.]

It would mean so much to me if I could have your support through prayers and/or financially during the start of my journey of international nursing. Please send your prayers my way for safe travel and stay in Ghana.
Thank you!!
- Elizabeth
