Elderly Couple Burned out of Home
Edna and Hezakiah awoke to a tragedy yesterday morning (Sep 18th) when their smoke alarms went off. Their house was engulfed in flames. They were able to get out safely. Unfortunately, their little dog perished and their home is heavily damaged and will be unlivable for a while. Hezakiah is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. His wife Edna is battling cancer at this time. The neighbors are working to help them. Luckily, they had insurance, but we need help to get them through until they can get the funds. And there are always essentials that won't be covered by insurance. They'll need medicines, clothes, rent, household goods, furniture, medical assistive devices, food, etc. The only unscathed items were an ivy on the front porch, and the American flag proudly flown in the front yard by Hezakiah. Semper Fi!!
Please donate what you can. Our Church Hill family has been wonderful, and we hope friends and strangers alike will help us help them. Please see additional photos in the Updates.
Edna and Hezakiah express their deep gratitude for everyone that has helped and made offers!!
