A Fight Against Cancer

“I beat cancer once. I can do it again, Mommy.”
            ~ Elayna

Have you ever had to fight for something in your life? How about fighting for  your life? That is exactly what this inspiring, creative, and beautiful girl is doing. Not once, not twice, but three times. #GoBeyondGiving

"Being brave means doing things we have to do, no matter how scared we are." ~Elayna

This brave girl, who loves life and everything in it, is Elayna.

She was first diagnosed with cancer (Wilms’) in 2014. She under went so much - several major abdominal surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and…she beat it, for 9 months.

Sadly, her mother had to tell her, that she would once again have to fight cancer. This time, much harder.   Elayna endured the unimaginable high dose chemo with stem cell replacement and bravely won, again.

On November 23, 2016 we received news that Elayna has relapsed a 3rd time with cancer in both lungs.  Elayna and her parents will need to travel to Washington, D.C for further treatment options.

Fast forward through another full round of chemo,  T-cell trial treatments in Washington D.C., a couple of good scans and an ablation procedure to the date Thursday, September 7, 2017.  This is the date Lucy had to tell Elayna and all of us, that once again new mets (tumors) had shown up on the scans. This means they will need to get on a longer chemo treatment plan until they can find another trial or cure for Wilms.

Many people have reached out to ask what they can do to help or have expressed wanting to make a donation towards the expenses. Let's make it possible for her parents to concenrate only on being there to get Elayna through this and all the care she needs. Please use this page to offer support at whatever level feels right for you. I will provide updates on Elayna’s progress along the way.

Our hearts are broken, but our spirit is not.
She is a warrior. She is brave. She is ready to continue this fight.

Let's fight with Elayna!

“Life is precious. Live it. Laugh and love and LIVE. If you’re fighting…keep fighting because it’s worth it. If your not fighting at the moment, cherish that. If you are feeling safe, look around to find someone else who is fighting and help them.”  ~ Lucy (Elayna's Mommy)
