The Students of Youth Job Readiness Training (YJRT) are partnered with El Centro De La Raza and are leading and asking for your support in raising funds for the Seattle Children's Hospital (Cancer Center). The YJRT students will allocate all funds raised toward books and toys for children battling cancer.
Los Estudiantes de Preparación para el Trabajo Juvenil están asociados con El Centro De La Raza y están solicitando su apoyo para recaudar fondos para el Seattle Children's Hospital(Centro de Cáncer). Los estudiantes asignarán todos los fondos recaudados para libros y juguetes para niños que luchan contra el cáncer.
A little about Us:
El Centro De La Raza, as an organization is grounded in the Latino community with the mission to build unity across all racial and economic sectors, to organize, empower and defend our most vulnerable and marginalized populations and to bring justice, dignity, equality, and freedom to all the peoples of the world.
El Centro De La Raza, como organización, se basa en la comunidad latina con la misión de construir la unidad en todos los sectores raciales y económicos, organizar, empoderar y defender a nuestras poblaciones más vulnerables y brindar justicia, dignidad, igualdad y libertad para todos los pueblos del mundo.
Youth Job Readiness Training (YJRT) Program is designed to implement high quality, culturally appropriate job readiness training skills for refugee English Language Learner (ELL) youth and their families. The services provided by El Centro to the YJRT focus on supporting participants in developing their job readiness skills, making academic progress, increasing their understanding of career an post-secondary options and collaborating with the community to make an impact onto others.
El Programa de Preparación para el Trabajo Juvenil está diseñado para implementar habilidades de capacitación de preparación para el trabajo de alta calidad y culturalmente apropiadas para jóvenes y sus familias refugiados como English Language Learner (ELL). Los servicios prestados por El Centro al YJRT son para que los participantes desarrollen sus habilidades de preparación para el trabajo, progresen académicamente, aumenten su comprensión de la carrera como opciones postsecundarias y colaboren con la comunidad para impactar a los demás.
As migrants to the U.S, navigating the American education system, the students of the YJRT understand what it is to live with barriers and to overcome them. Whether it be linguistic challenges or the complications that come with hospitalization and treatment, they understand that all challenges are better faced together. In keeping with El Centro’s mission of empowering communities experiencing vulnerability, the students of the YJRT are hoping to uplift kids diagnosed with cancer with this tangible expression of care.
Como migrantes a los Estados Unidos, navegando por el sistema educativo, los estudiantes de YJRT entienden lo que es vivir con barreras y superarlas. Ya sea que se trate de desafíos lingüísticos o las complicaciones que conlleva la hospitalización y el tratamiento, entienden que todos los desafíos se enfrentan mejor juntos. De acuerdo con la misión de El Centro de empoderar a las comunidades que experimentan vulnerabilidad, los estudiantes del YJRT esperan elevar a los niños diagnosticados con cáncer con esta expresión tangible de atención.
