Bringing Winn Home

$5,865 of $15,000 goal

Dan and Stacia Engelhardt legally adopted their son, Winn, from the Democratic Rebublic of the Congo over one year ago. Prior to being able to bring him home, all adoptions were halted resulting in an agonizing year of waiting and wondering. During the past year, Winn has lived with a foster family, which has brought the Engelhardts comfort, but has also been expensive by nearly doubling their adoption costs.  They now have hope to bring their 18 month-old baby boy home by Christmas. This final trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be their most expensive. Please help this beautiful family, so that when the call comes that Winn is finally free to come home, they are financially prepared.

Thank you to all of you who have so generously donated to this beautiful family. They are praying that the suspension on adoptions is lifted very soon and then Dan will be on his way to get Winn.

A note from Stacia -
Today marks one year since the suspension was put into place. Please pray for a miracle. The Congolese government said the suspension would last at least one year. Our hearts bleed for our baby boy who was only 3 months old the first time we saw his face. This past year has been filled with anxiety, fear and sadness. Imagine your child half way across the world and you can't get to them, you can't protect them:(. That is the nightmare we have been living. We love this little boy so much and long to be with him. Our hearts break with each day he is without us. He needs his mommy and daddy. He needs a family. We need a miracle to get this boy home and for the suspension to be lifted.

So, you raised money, but you brought your child home before the suspension was lifted, meaning you SMUGGLED the child? Will you be notifying people who made donations that you broke DRC and American law?
