WhatFest Needs Your Help

Hello all of you wonderful people! As you know, WhatFest is a glorious Wyoming grass roots music festival put on by an amazing all volunteer Board of Directors, a core group of annual volunteers and the many folks that sign up to help once they arrive and discover what an awesome opportunity they have to be a part of this truly incredible team. This year we changed our venue and had to start anew in many aspects. We have learned a lot about our new space and are still exploring what went well this year and what needs work. WhatFest was originally a free festival, but as it has grown, so have the needs for funds. From paying bands to renting port-a-potties for an increasing number of participants the costs are going up. One of the main goals of the Board is to always keep this festival affordable, with opportunities to volunteer in exchange for weekend passes thus keeping it “free” for those who wish to participate at that level. Although we had incredibly generous sponsors this year, many of our costs are paid for in advance and this year we did not generate enough money to cover those costs. These funds come out of personal accounts of Board members that do not garner a paycheck from putting on WhatFest. We are hoping to raise $6,500 to repay those that personally put up money to assure we all had an amazing experience this year.If you can, make a little or big donation and let’s get them paid back. It’s always the goal to at least break even, but having money in the bank to help get things started for the next year would be even better!
