Educational Bike/Pedestrian Signage

Ithaca is a lovely city to live in and a great place to raise a family. Unfortunately it could be a safer place for pedestrians and cyclists. Here's one example: Even though state law requires motorists to stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, this rarely happens downtown. We know of many accidents that have happened in Ithaca in our 20 years there, and many could have been avoided with better education, awareness and signage. 

I will be creating signage and developing a PR campaign to educate motorists and residents in general about the importance of respecting state laws, and hope to raise awareness amongst the city leaders, which will hopefully result in increased awareness, compliance with the laws, and police enforcement.
