At age 13 I walked into the boxing gym for the first time, with no real intention of fighting I just wanted to take classes to improve my core strength. I very quickly fell in love with boxing and started spending all the time I could, in the gym. The gym became my  second home and the people there became my extended family. I had my first fight when I was 14 and lost a close decision. I was devastated, my mom told me I could quit if I wanted to. I told her I didn't. I loved boxing and wanted to be the best.  A year later I had my second and third fights, both against girls who had been previously undefeated. I won both fights.  I eventually went on to win the Ringside world championship in Kansas city, Youth Nationals and Provincial Titles. I was also awarded the 2013 Youth female boxer of the year.  This year I will be competing in both the Canadian Olympic Trials  in December and the Elite National Championships in the spring.
