Sponsor a Fruit Tree in Honor of Someone You Love,
and we will plant it on a local farm on Salt Spring Island for free
When I see local family orchards I feel excited and nourished
because I need strong, healthy, resilient communities living lives of abundance.
The purpose of this Fundraiser is to raise money to purchase fruit trees
for our volunteer team to plant at local farms on Salt Spring Island.
Our mission is to plant fifty (50) Apple Trees on Local Family Farms
to give back to our community of Salt Spring Island.
Where do the funds go?
The funds will be used exclusively for the purchase of organic fruit trees, and our volunteer team will plant them for free.
Trees are purchased from Apple Luscious Organic Orchard on Salt Spring Island.
Fruit Trees cost $40 each
All donations of any amount are welcome.
Donations of $40 will purchase one fruit tree with free delivery & installation at a local farm.
Donations of $80 will purchase two fruit trees with free delivery & installation at a local farm.
Donations of $200 will purchase five fruit trees with free delivery & installation at a local farm.
All labour is provided by our volunteer team. All donations go directly to the purchase of the trees.

What is the impact of your investment?
Your donation of $40
after a period of eight years to reach maturity
will produce on average 100lbs of apples a year, every year
for over 50 Years.
Providing your community an estimated 5000lbs of Apples over a 58 Year period
Details
Semi dwarf Apple trees can live for 100 years or more.
When mature, a semi-dwarf tree will yield on average 3 to 6 bushels of apples per tree
At approximately 42 lbs per bushel, this is a yield of 126-252 lbs of apples per year.
Where are we planting the fruit trees?
All trees are planted in locations on Salt Spring Island that are already fenced with growers dedicated to care for the trees.

What Varieties of Fruit Trees will be planted?
We will handpick Apple trees that are high yielding, delicious, and disease resistant.
Our focus is on planting heirloom gems, delicious eating apples, as well as rare red & pink flesh apple varieties.

Heirloom Gems:
Gravenstein, Ashmead`s Kernel, Belle de Boskoop, Bramley`s Seedling
Pink & Red Flesh Treats:
Pink Lady, Pink Pearl, Pink Permain, Red Flesh, Bill`s Red Flesh, Hidden Rose & Pink Pearl.
Wildly Delicious & Abundant Apples:
Red Gravenstein, Cox Orange Golden, Wolf River, Williams Pride, Cox's Orange Pippins.
