Diana was born January 1, 2018 with Holoprosencephaly. Holoprosencephaly is an abnormality of brain development in which the brain doesn't properly divide into the right and left hemispheres. The condition can also affect development of the head and face.
Diana left NICU at almost 2 weeks old to be home with her family in Hospice Care with a dim prognosis. Well, this beautiful girl was not letting Doctors tell her what she can or can’t do! Through numerous seizures, nutrition through a feeding tube due to a severely cleft lip and palette, low body temp and numerous medications-she proved them wrong. With the love and strength of her family she surpassed any expectations that were handed to her. Today Diana is 5 months old.
In the past month Dianas' health has been slowly declining. She is currently in Hospice Inpatient Unit, with a 24/7 watch as she is not tolerating her feeds, slightly low body temp and fluid in her lungs. On top of that her seizures have become extreme and very long, lasting 45 minutes or so, even with the most medication she can get without overdosing. Medical staff is stating she is entering her final stages of life.
I'd like to begin this fundraiser for final expenses when the time arrives, and for travel, child care for her two siblings so her parents can be with her as much as possible, preferably on a just about constant basis (Sweet little girl should be in the arms of her parents) and not have to worry about bills at home, travel money, child care and anything else that arises because of not being at work.
