Volunteering in Malawi

Hi my name is Katarina Guillot and I'm 16 years old. Every year my high school picks a handful of students to volunteer in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. Through this volunteer work, I expect to increase my awareness and understanding of the world.
In Malawi, we will set up an eyeglass clinic where we will dispense over 3,500+ eyeglasses to reduce the risk of blindness. We are also delivering boxes of biology equipment to girl's schools and cloth diapers and bibs to Open Arms (for orphaned infants). We are learning Chichewa so we can better interact with our hosts.
I am honored to participate, but I need to raise over $3900 for expenses such as airfare, ground transport, equipment, vaccinations, medicines and participation fees not covered by my school. It is a long trek to Malawi. We will be flying 38+ hours from Phoenix to Los Angeles to Dublin to Addis Ababa to Lilongwe to Blantyre and then onto Mangocho, Zomba, Namalo Village and Mt. Mulanje.
Once the goal is reached, you will be part of our goal to make a difference. Any size donation is appreciated and I will share a video highlighting our accomplishments.
